The truth is I think God spoke to my heart thru a precious little girl named Jocelyn. From the moment I saw her my heart broke for her. With each passing day in El Rejon I guess I realized the gravity of her situation. I realized that without intervention her precious little life is destined to an unfulfilled future, full of pain and hardship because she was born into a family and culture unable to provide her the blessing of opportunity.

I realized what the future holds for her is a history of little or no education. If she's lucky she'll make it to 6th grade. A history high in physical, emotional and sexual abuse. A history of prejudice in her own country for being born into an indigenous family, for being a woman and for being born poor. A history of following a religion that places it's hope in many god's instead of the One and only true God. A history of living a meaningless life without ever discovering God's plan or purpose for her life.

So my heart was broken for this little girl... I think that's when God spoke to my heart and whispered "you can't change the world, but you can make a difference one soul at a time by being obedient and following my example of loving other's as I have loved you".

I guess I realized Jocelyn's story is similar to that of each and everyone of us when we live without God in our life. Love can create hope and change the destination of souls.

So that being said Journey...I believe we can change History together one soul at a time. Do you?

It is amazing how we can have a connection with someone of a different country, culture, and more.  We have made a connection with Margarita and her family because they are also a Christ followers.  It has been a pleasure to be able to help build her a new kitchen.  The look on her face today of such pleasure to see it almost complete was wonderful.  When we look at it we see what we would consider a shed, but for her it is a huge addition to her house.  Please continue to pray for us as we continue to serve in Guatemala.   Thanks, Dawn

It has been a joy to be around Margarita and her family and watch the progress each day. It has been wonderful to watch the excitement even on the little kids faces. It has been quite an experience staying with the host families, I can say that most of us are truly appreciative of what we have back home. Such as working toilets and warm showers. Burnt to a crisp but in a good spirits, Deb.

Kid's activity. Inspite of the intense heat over 80 kids showed up and it was a low attendance day.
